DSG 90th Anniversary Dinner

Hi everyone,

Did you know that this year the Group is celebrating 90 years of Dragon Scouting since 1922? Coincidentally, this year is also the year of the Dragon in lunar calendar!

As a finale to the year long celebration, there is a dinner to end off this “Dragon family” celebration. The dinner will be a seat down chinese-style halal dinner (yes, not buffet and you will be served) held in the school hall on 29 December 2012. Ticket sales has now officially started and each ticket is priced at $50 per person. Each ticket will guarantee a seat and food for the dinner, plus a lucky draw ticket! The event will officially start at 6pm. It will begin with a group photo taking and dinner will begin immediately after. Please note that food will not be reserved for late comers.

The main idea of the dinner is to have a “family dinner” with fellow patrol members, and catching up on the time since last met. Your own family members are also more than welcome to join in the dinner (with tickets purchased of course).

Our lucky draw items are rather attractive too! Currently we have iPod nano, Samsung 12MP digital camera, iPod shuffle, Braun Buffel leather wallet, Jays earphone and many others among our lucky draw items.

For more details, see our Facebook event page now!

National Day Parade 2012

This year we celebrated our National Day with recognition given to our G8 members, Law Teck Chong and Ken Ong Hong Sheng.

Both of them received Distinguished Service Award for the great service and time and effort rendered to our Dragon Scouts for the past two years and more.

Thank you, Teck Chong and Ken for all the support rendered !

We also congratulate Troop Leader Guanying for achieving the Best Scout Award for the year 2012.

Here’s a peek on the happenings on this important day.

Happy Birthday Singapore!

Happy birthday Singapore!

We are 90 !!!

14th April 2012, we celebrated our 90 years of scouting with a campfire.

We are honored to have Ms Indranee Rajah, MP for Tanjong Pagar GRC (Tanglin-Cairnhill) as our Guest-of-Honour together with our Vice-Principal, Mrs Ghapar. In addition, Mr Tan Cheng Kiong, The Singapore Scout Association Chief Commissioner who is also a member of the Dragon Chapter, came along to join in the celebration. The campfire theme was ‘The spirit of the Red and Green’ which were also the colour of our unit scarf and the school colour. The theme was chosen to illustrate the strong ties we have with the school over the years and to show the spirit of Dragon Scouts during the campfire.

More photos will be uploaded in our gallery and in the meantime, catch some of the highlights here.
