Year 2009 had past and 2010 begins. Have you fulfilled your resolutions for 2009? What are your resolutions for 2010? If you don’t mind, you can share them in the comments.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Christmas is celebrated by many, including non-Christians. It is a time for family and friends to gather and meet and gift exchanges are usually one of the highlights. More on Christmas on Wikipedia.

On behalf of the Group, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Enjoy the following Indian style 12 days of Christmas, performed by animated popstar, Boymongoose and Indian boyband.

Life = Risk

The following video is a follow-up video to my previous post. While this video has no “scouty” elements to it, I thought this video was done very well and it has a similar genre as the previous video (see Invest in Scouting = Change the World).

What do you think?

Invest in Scouting = Change the World

Ever went for those motivation talks or videos in school/work? I am sure most of you have, but what about scouting motivation talks or videos? Well, the following is a high-impact video dramatizes the core values and character-building adventure of scouting that was produced by the Boy Scouts of America.

Scouting – PRICELESS!

Remember those “priceless” Mastercard commercials? Here is a video on “priceless” scouting.

Enjoy!

Scouty Videos

Today, I have created a new section called “Scouty Videos” under our Resources area. This will collate all the scouting related videos that have been posted recently and moving forward. Do have a look!

Scout Law Videos

Did you know the Scout Law is different in different countries? Do you know how many Scout Laws were there in the first Scouting for Boys?

Answer: There were actually 9 Scout Laws which were as follows:

  1. A Scout’s honour is to be trusted.
  2. A Scout is loyal.
  3. A Scout’s duty is to be useful and to help others.
  4. A Scout is a friend to all, and a brother to every other Scout, no matter to what social class the other belongs.
  5. A Scout is courteous.
  6. A Scout is a friend to animals.
  7. A Scout obeys orders.
  8. A Scout smiles and whistles.
  9. A Scout is thrifty.

Over time and countries, these Scout Laws were modified for each country’s usage. A comprehensive source of information on all the Scout Law of the various countries can be found at Wikipedia.

Also, enjoy some commercials produced by the Boy Scouts of America (BSA for short) that were found on YouTube.

Scouting for Boys on BBC

Found a documentary on Scouting for Boys, featured on BBC via YouTube. Quite interesting to watch but it will take a while of your time. The video is broken down into 6 parts as shown below.

Enjoy!
