President's Scout Award 2009

23 November 2009 is a day when we honoured the best in Singapore Scouting by awarding deserving Scouts the pinnacle of awards – The President’s Scout Award !

We, the Dragons are indeed honoured to have Yeo Choon Lian (SPL 2006/2007, Chairman of Venture Exco 2008/2009) receiving the President’s Scout Award from His Excellency President S R Nathan at the Istana.

Choon Lian thus become the 15th President’s Scout Awardee since Yong Kok in 2003.

We achieved a GOLD for Frank Cooper Sands Award 2008 !

Good job to all Scouts, Ventures, Rovers and Leaders who had contributed to the success !

Scout of the World Award – Discovery Workshop (Environment)

Ventures and Rovers, please note the email that was circulated to you via the mailing list. Attachment mentioned can be found in the email.

Date: 12th to 14th December 2008

Venue: Sarimbun Scout Camp, Singapore

Participants Eligibility: Ventures and Rovers (17 to 26 years old)

Registration Fees: SGD 70.00 (includes accommodation, meals, materials, field trips and transport). For those interested but with financial difficulties, please kindly indicate so that something can be worked out.

Things to Bring: Clothing, toiletries, personal medication, torchlight or headlamp, sleeping bag, booties (diving boots or any tight-fitting shoes or shoes with lace – for field trip purpose and will get dirty), writing materials, notebook/laptop (optional) and any other necessities.

Submission of Application: All applications must be submitted to the Singapore Scout Association (SSA) HQ not later than 5pm on 29th November 2008, accompanied with the registration form and fees. Limited vacancies.

Attachment enclosed for your reference.

ASPIRE 2nd Intake 12/2008

Dear Leaders,

We are pleased to inform you that the ASPIRE-2nd Intake will be conducted in the last quarter of the year for Venture Scouts who had achieved the Venture Cord and registered as a President’s Scout Award Candidate.

A briefing for candidates will be held on 21st November 2008 at 7.30pm in the Scout HQ.  Candidates are to report in their Scout Uniform and they are required to bring along all original copies of their relevant certificates for certification.

All application forms together with registration fee must be submitted to the Scout HQ by 18th October 2008.  Late application will not be accepted.

Please see attached and kindly note the deadline.
